A Memorial Service for Kendall, Kansas resident, Edna Thompson will be held at 10:00 a.m. MST, on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Syracuse Wesleyan Church in Syracuse, Kansas with Pastor Ray Frank officiating. Per Edna’s request, cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place at a later date.
Edna Mae (Burch) Thompson was born on October 28, 1924 on the family farm south of Selkirk, Kansas to Lewis and Lillian (Page) Burch. She passed away on September 26, 2019 at the Hamilton County Hospital in Syracuse, Kansas.
Edna graduated high school in 1942 from Leoti, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Harold William Thompson on August 6, 1943. To this union they were blessed with two children, Kenneth Lew and Patricia Lynn. Edna helped her husband on the farm and had a love for horses. She enjoyed helping with her grandkids and watching them grow. At the age of 47 Edna became a Registered Nurse. After working as a nurse for 28 years she retired. Edna devotedly served the Lord by teaching Sunday school for many years. Edna loved The Lord, Jesus Christ.
Edna is survived by her husband, Harold Thompson of Kendall, Kansas; children, Kenneth Lew Thompson of Greeley, Colorado, and Patricia (Micky) Moore; grandchildren, Harold (JoDee) Moore, Kimberly (C.A.) Griffith, Travis (Bonnie) Moore, Rheannon Thompson, Hilarie Thompson; 11 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; many other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Betty Shetterly, Bill Burch, and Donald Burch.
